Position Summary: The Tourism Officer is responsible for maintaining consumer and industry tourism websites and databases, and critical information sources supporting tourism programs, overseeing distribution of promotional materials, media relations and assisting in marketing and promotion programs for Perth County.
Post-Secondary College diploma in travel and tourism, business administration, or journalism
2 years of related experience preferably in the travel and tourism industry
Good knowledge of computer programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite, and use of Social Media and related tools and technologies, including Facebook, You Tube, Twitter, and LinkedIn
Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with the requirement to work outside and beyond normal hours of work
Rate of Pay: $28.40 to $33.23 per hour, as per Band F of the County’s 2018 salary grid.
