Almost one year into the municipal term and economic development is fast-moving.  Is your Council keeping pace?

Designed to provide an overview of economic development from a community perspective, this seminar will focus on the following areas that help Councils stay on track in economic development:

  • roles of Councillors and staff
  • the importance of an economic development strategy
  • linkages with other functions of the municipality
  • performance measures

Who should attend?

This session is a great opportunity for new Councillors or for citizens appointed to economic development committees or boards as well as staff that work with economic development committees.  Additionally, it serves as a refresher for experienced elected officials.

David Cash, BES, RPP, CEcD, is a Past President of EDCO and has over 35 years experience in the Ontario municipal sector in various roles including Economic Development Officer, Planning Commissioner and CAO.

Coffee/tea will be provided.
