Honourary Lifetime Member

EDCO Honourary Life Membership Criteria

Honourary Life Membership may be proposed by ten (10) active members by making a written submission to the Board of Directors by November 1st of any calendar year.

1. A nominee may be a member in good standing or have been a member in good standing during their career.
2. A candidate must have reached the age of 60, or, have a minimum of 20-year service in the profession.
3. Honourary Life members are exempt from the payment of annual dues and are not eligible to hold office.
4. Honourary Life members will receive one complimentary full conference registration annually.
5. To be considered for Honourary Life Membership, the candidate must be retired or be no longer active in the profession. Not active shall be defined as devoting 30% or less of full-time hours to Economic Development work/consulting.
6. A nomination can be made by any member in good standing and must be supported by ten (10) members in good standing of the Association.
7. The nomination must include a resume of accomplishments and the reasons why the designation should be granted, highlighting the candidate's accomplishments in the field of Economic Development and significant contributions made to EDCO.
8. If the proposal is concurred with by the Board, the proposal shall be put to a vote of the active members present at the Annual or any General Meeting. It must receive a majority vote of the active members present at a General Meeting to become effective.

**      Honourary Life Membership status may be bestowed on Candidates who do not meet the above criteria, provided the nomination receives the unanimous approval of the Board of Directors and vote of the active members present at the Annual General Meeting.

iii. HONOURARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP

If the proposal is concurred with by the Board, the proposal shall be put to a vote of the active members present at the Annual or any General Meeting. It must receive a majority vote of the active members present at a General Meeting to become effective
