Please see below a partial list of upcoming Ontario tech trade missions (and 2 local programs) to key markets around the world organized by our Ontario Export Services Branch. Note that our programs sell out very quickly so act FAST with the respective contact for each program.

January 31 (Toronto): ITAC’s cybersecurity forum (webex or in person) 

On January 31st,  (9:30 am to 12), ITAC will be hosting its next Cyber Security Forum. ITAC Cyber Forums are free quarterly events that support information sharing, networking and business/professional development for cyber professionals across industry, government and academia. This month’s agenda includes a briefing on cyber investment opportunities through the federal Industrial Benefits Program, Symantec and Smashblock each presenting on new approaches and research, and Mauricio Ospina providing details on Canada’s delegation to RSA. March 12-15: Ontario trade mission to SxSW (South by South West) – 3 spots left!

The Ontario Ministry of International Trade and the Canadian Consulate in Texas invite you to be part of the Ontario interactive trade mission to South by South West - SxSW (www.sxsw.com). With over 60,000 attendees, and more than 500 exhibits, SxSW brings together the best innovative new companies and established industry leaders from the music, film and interactive fields. Eight new and established companies will have the opportunity to exhibit in the Ontario Pavilion (booth # tbd). Participants will also receive several value-added services including an up-to-date database, promotion at the Ontario Business Reception and a market intelligence briefing. Cost: $2,400 only for first time participants in an Ontario IT mission to the U.S. (deadline for “Early Bird” is December 31, 2016). Regular fee is $2,700. Past participants have priority registration only if applying with a first time participant approved to join the mission. April 6-16, 2017:  Ontario ICT Mission to Beijing, Shenzhen and Hong Kong International ICT Expo

Participating firms will exhibit in the Canadian Pavilion at the Expo and participate in programs including briefing, site visits and matchmaking meetings. Complimentary accommodations will be provided to eligible participants. Prior to the Expo in Hong Kong, Ontario companies will visit Beijing and Shenzhen to explore business opportunities with local businesses through seminars and one-on-one meetings. April 24-27: Ontario trade mission to NAB – 3 spots left!

Ontario Ministry of International Trade invites you to be part of the Ontario trade mission to the National Association of Broadcasters 2017 (www.nabshow.com). NAB is the world's largest electronic media show covering filmed entertainment and the development, management and delivery of content across all mediums. It attracts about 100,000 attendees from over 150 countries and 1,500+ exhibitors. The program is open to eight Ontario-based companies. Priority registration for first time participants in an Ontario mission. Benefits include turn-key exhibit space in the Ontario Pavilion (Central Hall C8718) located near the entrance, databases of local and international contacts and networking activities, and two exhibitor passes per company. May 18 – 25: CommunicAsia 2017 in Singapore (May 23-25) and optional pre-Trade Mission to Vietnam (May 18 – 19)

Join the Ontario showcase at CommunicAsia 2017, the premier sourcing and knowledge ICT platform in Asia. ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) is one of the world’s fastest growing regions.  Specific market projections for ASEAN include cloud IT infrastructure sales rose to 49% in 2015 with a projected market value of USD$7 billion by 2019; the Internet of Things (IoT) market is expected to grow from USD$1.68 billion in 2015 to US$7.53 billion by 2020. May 2016 (date to be confirmed):  Smart Grid Trade Mission to Washington, DC and Richmond, VA

The Export Services Branch, in collaboration with the Canadian Embassy, will organize a three-day outgoing trade mission of Canadian smart grid companies to DC and VA.   Ontario companies will have the opportunity to pitch and meet with smaller energy providers, consultants, integrators and engineering firms at the Embassy on the first day, and will to the same on the second and third day but with Dominion Power in DC and with Pepco in VA.   For more information contact Rita.Patlan@ontario.ca.

June 4-6:  Southeastern US and Canadian Provinces (SEUS-CP) Alliance Conference, Toronto, ON

Ontario will host the 10th Annual SEUS-CP Conference: Trade Partnerships at Work on June 4-6 at the Fairmont Royal York, Toronto

Join business leaders and elected officials from the southeast United States and Canadian provinces (SEUS-CP) for this three-day conference aimed at increasing business on both sides of the border. The Export Services Branch, in collaboration with the Canadian Consulate General in Miami, will organize a three-city water and energy nexus trade mission to Miami, Tampa and Orlando, Florida.  The Ontario participants will have an opportunity to pitch and meet with water and electric utility wholesalers and retailers, federal and state government officials, engineering firms and industry related consultants.    For more information contact Rita.Patlan@ontario.ca.

Sept. 12-14, San Francisco: Mobile World Congress Americas

The Export Services Branch invites you to be part of the Ontario wireless and M2M trade mission to Mobiler World Congress Americas – formerly CTIA (www.gsma.com/events/mobile-world-congress-americas). Sixteen new and established companies will have the opportunity to exhibit in the Ontario Pavilion (# SP24). Participants will also receive several value-added services including an up-to-date database, promotion at the Ontario Business Reception, a market intelligence briefing and likely 1x1 meetings. This exciting new event will highlight core mobile technologies, consumer and industrial applications in the Internet of Things, the intersection of mobile with entertainment, content and media, and the leading role of the Americas region in driving global innovation.
